Project

Landscape design documentation for a cabin retreat with planting, paths and fire-pit spaces embedded in a rural paddock setting.

Gabarraa is a small luxury escape planned around one cabin, one ridge and one very quiet paddock outside Tenterfield.

The landscape brief was to keep the setting reading as a working property — open grazed ground, scattered eucalypts, a low fire-pit terrace — while quietly building comfort: gravel paths, a sheltered arrival, screening planting on the wind edge and framed outlooks back to the ridgeline.

Scope

  • Concept landscape design for a single-cabin retreat
  • Fire-pit terrace and arrival sequence
  • Paddock-edge screening and planting palette

Design elements

  • Open paddock kept as the primary landscape
  • Fire-pit terrace with gathering space
  • Gravel arrival paths and cabin curtilage
  • Screen planting to wind and access edges
