Project

Completed playground works combining planting, nature-play forms and robust timber structures for a family destination setting.

The Big Pineapple playground brief was to give a much-loved Sunshine Coast destination a real, weekend-scale nature play environment rather than an off-the-shelf equipment yard.

The design leans on the site's retained trees and slopes: a yellow tube slide is set into a planted embankment, timber balance logs and climbing elements pick up the level changes, and a rope bridge threads through the existing canopy so the play reads as part of the surrounding landscape.

Scope

  • Nature-play concept and layout
  • Embankment slide integration and site grading
  • Timber play elements and shade planting

Design elements

  • Yellow tube slide integrated into embankment planting
  • Timber balance logs and climbing elements
  • Rope bridge threaded through retained trees
